Intro

Hello everybody!
I guess, I'll stick to english, so it's understandable for everybody. But there will be the ocasional switches to German or maybe even Russian, just for your entertainment.

It is my 3rd month here in Petersburg and I have to say, it's cold, but beautiful. I am living on Wassili Island in a dormitory. To be honest, I thought it would be a lot worse but we got a nice appartement. We are 4 girls living in two rooms. I'd say the worst thing is that our oven is not working but at least they turned on the heating in October. It is simple but we decorated to make the place cosy and personal. I can consider myself very lucky with my room mates. They are all nice and like a "clean" environment and they are fun to be with.

We've already seen a lot of the city. It is huge and has those white and yellow palaces and big city houses, not to mention all the theaters, museums and shopping possibilities. On Nevskij Prospect you'll always find something to look at or go in.

Of course I have to attend university as well. It's an hours drive by bus and metro and in the end of the day you can feel that there are 2 hours missing (not to compare with the 5 minutes by bike at home). The lectures in English are so lala, I should have taken more in Russian but I still got another semester to correct my mistake. Good for us, we only have Monday to Wednsday, the rest is long weekend. Thus we saw all the great palaces and parks outside St. Petersburg during the beautiful golden autumn/fall we had. I have a lot of sunny pictures which is unusual for Petersburg in this time of the year.

Now, I am going to write about things that'll happen from now on, so the last two months are lost in translation.

Everybody that is interested, read and enjoy. We'll see how it'll work out (very first blog and a lazy writer ;).

Bye for now, Anna
