Yes, we can

It would be a shame not to have a post with this title !

What a week. I have actually wanted to attend all lectures, they just aren't taking place. Not that I would mind too much. The real work starts on thursdays when we need to write essays and presentations. I had a group presentation preparation with 10 people today and I thought it was a mess. Of course we had quite a nice outcome and that is usually all that counts but I would have liked our professors to be sensible and have groups of 3, maximum 4 people. Well, ..., we are in Russia and domestic students are 17 when they start university. At least I found the topic interesting, not very challenging though. Tilman and I are going to give a nice performance tomorrow and stun the Russian professors with our perfect presentation.

Everything else is fine. We have quite excessive plans concerning our cultural life. Tomorrow, there'll be a rock night at one of the various clubs in the city. On the next weekends we'll see and hear Russian folk dance, Mozart's requiem, Giselle and Toska. I like living here!

Was für eine Woche. Eigentlich hatte ich mir fest vorgenommen zu allen Vorlesungen zu gehen, sie finden aber leider nicht statt. Natürlich bin ich nicht all zu traurig darüber. Die eigentliche Arbeit beginnt immer erst am Donerstag, wenn es darum geht, Essays und Vorträge zu schreiben. Heute saßen wir bei und und haben zu zehnt einen Vortrag ausgearbeitet. Ich fand es ein wenig chaotisch, aber das Ergebnis ist ja das, was zählt. Schön wäre es aber schon gewesen, wenn unsere Professoren so umsichtig gewesen wären uns in kleinere Gruppen einzuteilen. Aber gut, wir sind halt in Russland und die Studenten sind im Durchschnitt 17 wenn sie an die Uni kommen. Wenigstens das Thema war interessant, wenn auch nicht besonders anspruchsvoll.

Sonst ist alles in Ordnung. Morgen gehen wir zu einer Rock Nacht in irgendeinen Club in der Stadt. Die nächsten Wochenenden sind auch gut gefüllt: Russischer Volkstanz, Mozarts Requiem, Giselle und Toska. Ich freu mich auf jede einzelne Veranstaltung. Man kann diese Stadt schon liebgewinnen.
